The small painting, Landscape with Figures had suffered large areas of paint loss and required some creative retouching to reintegrate the losses and present a whole image. First, the losses were filled with a putty which was textured to mimic the surrounding paint. Then the losses were imitatively retouched so they would not be noticeable, and allow the painting to once again be enjoyed. A reversible retouching medium was used, so that in the future it can all be removed without damaging the painting.
